ABOUT THE ARTIST
Torgny Rydahl (1925–2011), full name Karl Torgny Urban Pauli, was a Swedish painter born in Lund and later active in Skåne. He studied at painting schools and during travels in Germany and Austria.
He is known for coastal scenes, often from Lomma, as well as expressive tree studies and marine painting. His work also includes landscapes with dramatic skies, architectural motifs, and graphic works such as linocuts inspired by travels in Malaga.
Rydahl exhibited at Galleri Aglaria in Hässleholm in 2006 and worked as a teacher at Önnestads Folkhögskola (1984–1992) and later taught watercolor in Hästveda.
