ABOUT THE ARTIST
Gustaf Enock Ambe (1895–1972) was a Swedish artist and drawing teacher based in Stockholm. He studied at Slöjdföreningens School of Industrial Arts in Gothenburg and at Valand’s Art School, and further trained under several established artists and conservators.
He also studied in Italy and France, including at Académie Colarossi in Paris. Ambe was active as both an exhibiting artist and educator, participating in exhibitions at venues such as the Royal Academy in Stockholm and Liljevalchs Konsthall. His work reflects a solid academic foundation combined with a lively and expressive approach to landscape painting.
