Atmospheric coastal scene from Lønstrup on the Danish west coast. Painted in oil on canvas during the 1960s. Soft light, dunes, and open sea create a calm Nordic mood.
This oil painting shows the coastal landscape at Lønstrup on the Danish west coast. Sandy dunes open toward the sea, with rolling hills guiding the eye to the horizon. The sky is calm, with warm light resting over the water.
The brushwork is confident and direct. The paint is applied with visible texture, especially in the dunes and grasses. The color palette is restrained, with muted greens, sand tones, and cool blues.
The composition feels balanced and natural. The path through the dunes adds depth and quiet movement. The work reflects a classic Scandinavian approach to landscape painting from the 1960s.
The painting is signed in the lower left corner. It is presented in a simple painted wooden frame that suits the period and the subject well. A solid and decorative vintage coastal painting with a clear sense of place.
