ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Theodor Bernhard Thÿge Ulrichsen (1905–1970) was a Danish painter educated at the Technical School, the Academy, and the Danish state drawing teacher program, with further artistic guidance under L. A. Ring. He worked as a drawing instructor in Copenhagen and became known for his atmospheric depictions of Danish rural and urban environments. Ulrichsen also illustrated books and newspapers, including works supported by the Ny Carlsberg Foundation, and was represented at Stiftsmuseet in Maribo. His extensive body of work remains widely distributed throughout Denmark.
