Signed and numbered lithograph by Jussi Taipaleenmäki, a signed lithograph from the 1990s depicting a figurative riverside scene.
A richly detailed figurative composition set along a river landscape. Multiple characters appear across the scene, from bathing figures in the foreground to small narrative groups in the distance. The composition blends everyday life with surreal elements, creating a layered and slightly theatrical atmosphere. Trees, water and architecture frame the scene and guide the eye through the image.
Printed as a signed lithograph on paper, this work shows the artist’s distinctive approach to line and color. From a limited edition of 98 impressions, this example numbered 78/98. The surface reveals subtle tonal transitions and hand-finished qualities typical of lithographic techniques.
This piece works well as a focal point in an interior. Its narrative richness and Scandinavian character suit both modern and eclectic spaces. A strong example of vintage printmaking with decorative impact.
This lithograph is part of a series inspired by songs by Swedish troubadour Cornelis Vreeswijk.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Jussi Taipaleenmäki (born 1948 in Oulu, Finland) is a painter, printmaker, and sculptor who later settled in Sweden. His work is known for its imaginative and unconventional character, often combining figurative elements with symbolic and narrative content.
His early life was highly unusual, living independently from a young age, which contributed to a strong sense of individuality and creative freedom. While working at a paper mill, he began experimenting with wax marking crayons on industrial paper, developing a distinctive and expressive technique later referred to as “Jussi-ism.”
Taipaleenmäki’s graphic works are recognized for their inventive compositions and emotional depth, placing him within a unique position in Scandinavian graphic art.
