Vintage Scandinavian oil painting showing a quiet harbor with a wooden boathouse and small boats. A calm coastal scene with soft Nordic light and natural colors.
A Scandinavian coastal scene with a traditional wooden boathouse standing on the shoreline. Small boats rest quietly beside the building while calm water stretches toward the horizon.
Executed in oil on canvas.
The painter uses loose brushwork and natural tones to describe the harbor landscape. Grey skies, soft water reflections and the weathered wooden structure create a quiet Nordic mood.
The composition feels balanced and relaxed. The boats and shoreline guide the eye toward the open water in the distance.
Maritime subjects like this were common in Scandinavian painting during the mid-20th century. They reflect everyday coastal life and the strong relationship between people and the sea.
Today these paintings work well as decorative wall art. The calm palette and simple composition suit Scandinavian interiors, coastal homes, or living rooms with natural materials.

About the Artist
Tage Erik Eriksson (1916–2003) was a Swedish painter born in Västerås. He later worked in Gothenburg and along the Swedish west coast. Eriksson studied at the Slöjdföreningens School of Painting in Gothenburg and developed a style focused on coastal life and maritime landscapes.
His work often depicts harbors, fishing boats, and small coastal buildings typical of the Swedish archipelago. The paintings emphasize atmosphere and natural light rather than strict detail. Many of his scenes capture quiet everyday moments along the coast.
Eriksson exhibited his work in several Swedish cities, including Stockholm and Gothenburg. Today his paintings appear regularly at Scandinavian auctions and remain appreciated for their calm maritime subjects and decorative character.
