About the Artist — Carl Månsson (1892–1976)
Carl Månsson was a Swedish painter born in Lund, Sweden, in 1892. He studied art both in Lund and Copenhagen, where he developed his distinctive approach to landscape painting. Throughout his career, Månsson captured the tranquil beauty of southern Sweden, especially the rural scenery of Skåne, with a warm and naturalistic style.
Working mainly in oil on canvas and board, Månsson painted rustic farmsteads, open fields, and serene countryside scenes that reflect the harmony of Swedish rural life. His works are admired for their calm atmosphere, soft light, and deep sense of place.
Though not internationally famous, Carl Månsson’s paintings have appeared in Swedish art auctions and private collections, valued for their craftsmanship and authentic depiction of early 20th-century Scandinavian landscapes. He passed away in 1976, leaving behind a charming legacy of regional Swedish art.
