This original oil painting by Marcell Wernegreen Jensen depicts a scene from Husum( danish town) in Denmark, created in oil on hardboard during the mid 20th century. The work reflects Danish modernist tendencies within a landscape setting, balancing structure and abstraction.
The composition is built with confident, expressive brushwork. A bold red house contrasts with muted greens and earth tones, while simplified forms and strong lines create movement and depth. The surface shows clear painterly texture and controlled spontaneity.
A striking decorative piece suited for Scandinavian interiors. Works well as a focal point in living spaces, adding warmth, character, and a refined mid century aesthetic.
